UAE Family Sponsorship

UAE Family Visa: Sponsor Your Spouse, Children & Parents

Bring the people who matter most — TFZ handles every step, from application to Emirates ID

A residence visa gets you to the UAE. A family visa makes it home. If you hold a valid UAE residence visa — as an investor, employee, Golden Visa holder or property owner — you can sponsor your spouse, children and, in eligible cases, your parents to live with you. The process involves salary criteria, attested documents, medical tests and tight timelines, and small mistakes cause real delays. TFZ manages family visas end to end, so your loved ones land with everything ready.

Who You Can Sponsor

  • Your spouse — with an attested marriage certificate
  • Your children — sons and daughters, with attested birth certificates; unmarried daughters can be sponsored with no age limit, and sons typically up to 25 (longer if continuing studies, and without limit for sons of Golden Visa holders in many cases)
  • Your parents — subject to higher salary requirements and conditions; usually both parents together
  • Newborns — babies born in the UAE must get their residence visa within 120 days of birth; we make this a priority service for new parents

Good news for families: mothers can also sponsor their children, and the UAE has removed the old profession restrictions for sponsors — what matters today is a valid residence visa, sufficient income and suitable accommodation.

What You Need to Qualify

  • A valid UAE residence visa — investor, employment, Golden or property visa
  • Minimum income — generally AED 4,000 per month, or AED 3,000 plus accommodation, for spouse and children; sponsoring parents requires a higher income threshold
  • Proof of accommodation — an Ejari-registered tenancy contract or title deed
  • Attested documents — marriage and birth certificates attested in the home country and by UAE authorities; TFZ arranges attestation if yours are not ready
  • Medical fitness test — for every family member aged 18 and above

Changing Jobs or Visas? Protect Your Family's Residency

Here is something many sponsors learn the hard way: when your own residence visa is cancelled — because you are changing jobs, switching from an employment visa to an investor visa, or upgrading to a Golden Visa — your dependents' visas are normally cancelled with it. It does not have to be that way. Your family's visas can be placed on hold at an Amer centre in Dubai before your residency is cancelled, then released once your new Emirates ID is issued. No cancellations, no re-applications, no new medical tests for the family. TFZ manages this visa-hold process routinely for clients changing structures — tell us before you cancel anything, and we will sequence it so your family's status is never at risk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Generally AED 4,000 per month, or AED 3,000 plus employer-provided accommodation, to sponsor a spouse and children. Sponsoring parents requires a higher income and additional conditions. We confirm the exact criteria for your emirate and visa type before applying.

Yes. Women residents who meet the income and accommodation requirements can sponsor their husbands and children. The old restrictions limiting sponsorship to certain professions have been removed.

Yes — in most cases we change their status in-country from visit to residence without them leaving the UAE, which saves flights, time and stress.

By default, cancelling the sponsor's visa cancels the dependents' visas too — but this can be avoided. We place your family's visas on hold at an Amer centre before your cancellation, then release them once your new Emirates ID is issued. Speak to us before cancelling anything.

Typically 1–2 weeks per family member once documents and attestations are ready. Attestation of foreign certificates can add time, so we start that first.

Sons can generally remain under sponsorship up to 25 where they continue their education (and without limit in many Golden Visa cases); unmarried daughters can remain sponsored regardless of age. We track these milestones for our clients and advise on options as they approach.

No, it's very simple. Just download the UAE Pass app on your smartphone. When we submit the application, we will need the verification code from you. That's it!
